💛 Why It Matters
Across the world, 1 in 7 adolescents faces a mental disorder (WHO).
In Sri Lanka, 15.4% of schoolchildren have contemplated suicide, and 18% show symptoms of depression.
But there is hope.
Research shows that spiritual and value-based learning protects young people (ages 10–24) from anxiety and depression.
This isn’t about religion.
It’s about helping children become deeply rooted, grounded, and resilient — within any faith or value system they belong to.
Especially between the ages of 4 and 14, before exam pressure and life stress take over.
When children grow up with kindness, faith, self-awareness, and inner strength, they carry that resilience throughout life.

The Author & Founder
Loving Books was founded by Dinukshi Fernando, a Lawyer, Marketer and most importantly, a mother.
As a child, Dinukshi experienced first hand the importance of grounding in ones religion (whatever that may be), to create resilience and prevent anxiety and depression through life's challenges. She wanted to give a part of her wisdom and resilience to her own daughter. She started writing stories to help her own daughter through struggles of modern childhood. When friends saw these books and wanted to purchase them, she realized this was much in need.
But she noticed how children read books once and put them away, but effortlessly come back to videos and video games. So she invented the S.M.A.R.T Book format after teaching herself AI, programming and animation. The result was an instant hit with kids and their parents, and Dinukshi has not stopped writing since. Many of her books are narrated by her own little daughter Minradha, or in collabortion with popular personalities that command authority. She also loves working with personalities from various religions and causes to co-create books that ground children.
What started as a project to help her daughter has now transformed into a movement of exciting transformative value based content for kids. Dinukshi now allocates 20% of profits towards meritorious deeds and enjoys every moment of this purposeful venture.
